Project details

Challenge

We began working with Jackson ImmunoResearch in 2024 to design and develop and new website for them. During the course of this project, we needed to rationalise the overall look of the brand, not only from a brand perspective, but to make the overall look easier to understand and digest, through a unified visual identity that could be applied to all materials and subject matter, so that it is was instantly recognisable and unmistakably ‘Jackson’.

One requirement was for images, illustrations and animations to bring the products to life.

Solution

Working with the client, we worked through several different iterations of molecular 3D product models and sketches. These ranged from being incredibly complex ‘hyper realistic’ visualisation that are 100% accurate through to more abstract and simplified models.

The requirements for the products range significantly in their complexity, so we felt it was better to go with a more abstract approach, as it gave us more flexibility, but also allowed us to create a very ownable and intriguing visual identity system for Jackson. We purposely chose to use light colour backgrounds to lift the visuals, and use the brands primary colours where possible.

We created a library of 3D models of the products so that we could create either static images and animation when required. These have been utilised throughout the product section of the website, where static images animate on rollover to encourage you to discover more.

Result

The results of our work have created a dynamic visual design language that is being rolled out in both digital and traditional media communications and allows the client to use imagery and visuals throughout materials that showcase the products at a molecular level. These are both technically correct, critical in the life sciences sector, but that are also visually exciting and dynamic. Our work has covered:

  • Rationalised visual appearance
  • A defined visual design language for all product imagery
  • A series of static product images and animated sequences.
